And maybe some type of mesh tool or platform that you could import data dumps from another software/CRM/ERP program like Salesforce or Oracle or even a local version of Access.Like most companies we have remote sales team and we were having trouble getting our hands around a sales pipeline just using an excel based WB that combines actuals and pipelines to create a revenue forecast, actuals come out of Oracle, while we've incorporated Salesforce to get more upto date pipeline information, however the interface isn't as user friendly as the original spreadsheet and can be quite tedious, plus having multiple systems makes it more difficult to automate any of the process using macros. The ideal would be a web-based office program, where said forecast could be maintainted in spreadsheet x which would have different levels of security so that each rep could only see his tab with a web based access data base for things like contacts, product info......whatever you'd normally use a database for.
